PMDF System Manager's Guide

It is possible to have a welcome message sent to subscribers when they subscribe to a list with the SUBSCRIBE command. When a user is subscribed to the list list, MAILSERV will search for the file list.txt in the PMDF_MAILSERV_MAIL_DIR directory. If this file exists, then it will be sent to the new subscribee. Welcome messages generally contain such information as who maintains the list, list usage policies, the list's posting address, etc..
