forwarding-address
Required parameter specifying the address to forward your mail to.
The
SET FORWARD
command sets or changes a forwarding address for your mail. After you enter this command, any new mail messages will be sent to the forwarding address until such time that you either change it with a subsequentSET FORWARD
command, or remove it entirely with theSET NOFORWARD
command. After setting or changing your forwarding address, be sure to show the new setting with the
SHOW FORWARD
command. Make sure that you did not make a typing mistake. If there is an error in the address, then mail sent to you may be returned to the sender as undeliverable or, worse yet, disappear entirely. Note, however, that whenSET FORWARD
sets the forwarding address, it "wraps" the address in an IN%" " wrapper. Do not be alarmed by this; it is correct. It is important that this be done as it allows the forwarding to work properly with VMS MAIL.
