What's New in PSCSSH V3.0

PSCSSH V3.0 is now available for OpenVMS VAX, OpenVMS Alpha, OpenVMS I64, and OpenVMS x86_64!

PSCSSH V3.0 is a rebrand of the product formerly known as SSH for OpenVMS. Longtime users know that the product has its roots in MultiNet and used MultiNet logical names and directories, which created a lot of confusion over the years. PSCSSH V3.0 reworks all of that to remove the references to MultiNet. Logicals now begin with the prefix "PSCSSH," for example. The directory tree is [PSCSSH...].

PSCSSH V3.0 offers the same features as the current ECO kit for SSH V2.4.

Not every site will want to move to PSCSSH V3.0, precisely because it changes all of the MultiNet references to PSCSSH. Sites with command procedures that include SSH V2.4 commands would have to update all of those references, for example, which could be quite cumbersome.

Going forward, Process Software plans to continue to support SSH V2.4 and PSCSSH V3.0. When an update kit is released for the product, it will be released for both flavors of the product. Existing users won't have to change anything, and new adopters will receive a product that doesn't look like a MultiNet subset. Sites using OpenVMS x86_64 will need to install PSCSSH V3.0.

If you have any questions about the changes, please send an email to Support@process.com.

If you'd like to migrate to PSCSSH V3.0 or would like to inquire about a license to run PSCSSH V3.0 on OpenVMS x86_64, please send an email to Sales@process.com.

Thank you for choosing Process Software!
